Real-World Application

Introduction

Get ready to become purpose detectives in the wild! This week, we're taking everything we've learned about the author's purpose and text structure and applying it to the real world around us. From food packaging to social media posts and billboards to news headlines, authors are constantly trying to persuade, inform, entertain, and explain. By analyzing authentic texts from everyday life, you'll sharpen your critical thinking skills and become a more aware consumer of information. This final week brings our learning full circle as you create projects that showcase your expertise!
