Hello Everyone!

My name is Elinés Rosa Torres, and I'm 23 years old. I'm studying to become an elementary and secondary English as a second language teacher. I am currently in my 6th and final year of university. I like to think that I'm hard-working, passionate, creative, and dedicated. For me is very important, for my development as a professional, to learn new things constantly. Right now I'm working hard on my studies and looking forward to all the new things I will learn.

My Story

In 9th grade, I had the good fortune of meeting Mr. Ramon Flores, hands down the best teacher in my academic life. He's the reason I'm pursuing education today. While I've always enjoyed helping others learn, I hadn't seriously considered teaching as my career path until experiencing Mr. Flores' classroom. His creative approach and genuine enthusiasm showed me what education can be when done with heart and skill.

Starting college in the teacher preparation program was eye-opening. I quickly realized that teaching is far more complex than it appears from the student's desk! Learning about educational history and how teaching methods have evolved over time fascinated me. Discovering the profound impact educators have on children's development, not just academically but socially and emotionally, made me appreciate the profession even more.

The deeper I dive into education, the more I understand just how crucial great teachers are in shaping future generations. This realization doesn't intimidate me, it motivates me to work harder. I'm committed to becoming the kind of teacher who makes a difference, someone who supports students not just in mastering the curriculum but in navigating the beautiful, challenging journey we call life.

Mr. Flores planted a seed, and now I'm nurturing it into something that I hope will one day inspire others the way he inspired me.
